Angkor What? Bar
Opened in 1998, this was the very first bar on Pub Street, but not the first bar in Siem Reap. Its still a very lively nightspot, with the traveller’s graffiti all over the walls. Thanks to its reputation, it is now frequented mostly by tourists who want to “do” Angkor What? at least once after a day at the temples. It gets loud and a bit raucous, but still a good place to meet people. Complete drinks menu, and pool table. Reasonable prices.
At first, it may not look like the newest nightlife venue, but step inside and you will find something unique in the nightlife scene in Siem Reap. These traditional Khmer wood houses used to be all over Siem Reap, but sadly very few are left. The owners wanted to create something that was missing from the nightlife in Siem Reap.
Here you can relax on comfy seating, or in swinging hammocks, and not sitting at tables lets customers freely interact, as in a Cambodia house of the past. Along with the beer, wine and cocktails, you can enjoy Khmer home cooking, finger food, and platters.
